The treatment plan lasts three years with three visits each year throughout the growing season. Following this, there is then a further two years of monitoring to ensure there is no re-growth of the Japanese knotweed. The chemicals we use are significantly stronger than those that can be purchased by the public. When treating the Japanese Knotweed in Rochdale we prefer to inject as a first option, this is then followed by spraying where injection is not possible. The is because evidence shows that injection is generally more effective than spraying especially if the application takes place on a damp day.
