The treatment plan lasts three years with three visits each year in August, September and October. There is then a further two years of monitoring the gardens to make sure there is no re-growth of the Japanese knotweed. The chemicals we use are 300 x stronger than those that can be purchased by the public and we tend to inject as a first option followed by spraying where injection is not possible. The reason for this is that we have seen evidence that injection seems to be more effective especially if the application takes place on a damp day.
